Founders Letter

To Our Community,
Skin at Peace began long before there was a lab, a team, or even a name. It started in a small apartment in Jupiter, Florida, where I was doing everything “right” as an experienced esthetician, yet my own skin was only getting worse.
I’d lived with rosacea and sensitivity for as long as I could remember. I tried every treatment, every “gentle” product, every minimalist routine. I stripped things back to almost nothing. Still, my skin resisted everything I put on it. The frustration was constant, and it took a toll not just on my skin but on my confidence.
Rodrigo watched me go through this cycle and wanted to help. With his background in medicine, microbiology, cosmetic chemistry, and his earlier work formulating in surfactant labs, he took a closer look at the products I was using. What he found became the turning point for both of us.
Despite their different branding and claims, every product shared the same through-line: fragrance, preservatives, fillers, and ingredients that served the formula more than the skin. They weren’t supporting my barrier – they were overwhelming it. Once we understood that, the path forward felt obvious.
Rodrigo began making small batches of skincare just for me. Fresh formulas. Minimal ingredients. Nothing extra, nothing unnecessary, nothing designed to sit on a shelf for years. And for the first time, my skin calmed. The redness eased. The burning stopped. My barrier strengthened in a way I hadn’t experienced in nearly two decades of professional work.
That shift didn’t feel like a miracle. It felt like clarity.
We realized that what helped my skin could help others, too. Many of my clients were struggling with the same sensitivity, the same cycle of irritation and disappointment. So, we took what started in our apartment and turned it into something bigger, step by step, batch by batch.
Years later, Skin at Peace has grown into a team, a headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida, and thousands of people using fresh formulas that respect the skin rather than challenge it. Every product is still made in micro-batches, every ingredient still has a purpose, and everything we create is rooted in the same intention we’ve had from the beginning: to offer a different solution for people who feel like their skin is working against them.
This brand emerged from years of firsthand experience and the drive to understand the biology behind sensitive skin. It was shaped by frustration, inquiry, and evidence. At its core is a simple truth: skin responds best to formulas that respect its natural functions rather than overwhelm them.
Thank you for being here, for trusting us, and for allowing our story to become part of your own. It means more than you know.
With warmth,
